2. What we process
When you send a contact or after-sales form, we process your name, company if you provide one, email, phone, address, equipment category, model if you provide one, message if you provide one, page language and the page you came from. If you have accepted analytics cookies, the form also includes a visitor id so we can relate that inquiry to the same visit.
If you sign in to the download centre with an account we issued, we process the user name, a hashed password and the time of the last sign-in, so we can confirm that you may download the corresponding files.
To keep the site secure and limit abuse, we record technical data needed for that purpose, including IP address, browser type, time and page path. The same technical data is stored when you submit an inquiry.
Only after you choose “Accept all” in the banner do we set the first-party cookie kolb-vid and record a visitor id, page path and IP address, to measure visits and improve pages. If you choose “Necessary cookies only”, that measurement does not run. This website does not use advertising or marketing cookies.
3. Why we use it
We use this information to reply to and follow up your inquiry or after-sales request, to run the download centre, to keep the site secure, and, with your consent, to measure visits. We do not use it for advertising that is unrelated to those purposes.
4. How long we keep it
Inquiry details are kept for as long as we need them to reply and follow up. After that, we delete them unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Visit statistics are kept for as long as we need them for measurement. kolb-vid lasts about one year. The download-centre sign-in cookie lasts about seven days and is cleared when you sign out. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear this site’s data.
5. Where it is processed
The company is established and operates in mainland China. To run this website and reply to inquiries, the information above is processed in mainland China. If you are outside mainland China, that information is transferred to mainland China.
6. Who receives it
We do not sell personal information. An inquiry is handled by our staff who follow it up, and may be sent to them by email. Hosting and email providers process it only so they can provide those technical services to us. Where the law requires it, we may disclose information to a competent authority.
7. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information about you, and you may withdraw consent for analytics cookies. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it. Contact us at the email address or phone number above. We will reply within a reasonable time.
If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children and updates
This website is aimed at business customers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
When we update this policy, we change the date at the top. Disputes arising from this policy or from our handling of personal information on this website are subject to the jurisdiction of the People’s Court of Boluo County, Huizhou. This policy is provided in Chinese, English, Spanish and German. If the language versions differ, the Chinese text prevails.
